The State Sanitary Inspection has launched a new e-service on the e-Sanepid platform, through which employers can electronically submit information regarding the presence of carcinogenic, mutagenic, and reprotoxic (CMR) agents in the workplace.
CMR agents include substances, mixtures, and certain agents and technological processes that may pose a risk to workers’ health. In practice, they can occur in various sectors and include agents such as benzene, formaldehyde, crystalline silica, wood dust, or diesel engine exhaust emissions.
What does the new GIS service actually change?
First and foremost, it simplifies how reporting obligations to the State Sanitary Inspection are fulfilled. Notifications can be submitted online, without the need to use paper documents. The electronic form is also designed to facilitate collecting and submitting the required information.
However, this does not mean new obligations related to the presence of CMR agents itself. Employers should still properly identify hazards occurring in the workplace and fulfill their statutory obligations regarding employee protection and maintaining appropriate documentation.
The launch of the e-service is therefore primarily an organizational change and another step in digitizing communication between businesses and the State Sanitary Inspection.
The e-service is available on the e-Sanepid platform under the “E-services” tab.
For employers where CMR agents are present, this is also a good opportunity to verify whether existing notifications, exposure documentation, and applied employee protection measures remain up-to-date and compliant with applicable requirements.
