Recruitment stages:
- Application submission:
- Sending by the candidate a complete set of documents (CV, cover letter, and for lawyers and trainees, a list of publications/experience is welcome) via the form on the website or by email.
- It is crucial to meet the requirements stated in the job posting, which we pay close attention to.
- From the moment the job posting is published until the recruitment closing date.
- Preliminary review of applications
- A detailed review of the received applications in terms of formal and substantive aspects (education, experience, language qualifications).
- Usually 1–2 weeks after the recruitment closes.
- First contact:
- Email or phone contact with selected candidates. This may include a short preliminary phone conversation to verify key information.
- This takes place immediately after the initial selection.
- Legal/practical task (Optional)
- Depending on the position, the candidate may be asked to complete a short written task (e.g., case analysis, drafting a legal memo) or a practical task (e.g., client conversation simulation or contacting service providers).
- We understand you have your own commitments, so we will agree on a mutually convenient deadline for completing the task, typically 2–5 days.
- Job Interview
- At AJ LAW, conversations and relationships are key, so the most important step is the meeting. Selected candidates will receive an invitation to a recruitment meeting (online or in person) with AJ LAW’s founding partners.
- This is an opportunity to get to know each other, discuss details of experience and mutual expectations, provide information about the position, scope of responsibilities, and other formal matters.
- Typically, there will be 1–2 meetings, each lasting 30–60 minutes.
- Reference check:
- For key positions and with the candidate’s consent, we contact the indicated previous employers or references.
- Decision and offer
- Finally, the time will come for mutual decisions. We will inform the candidate of a positive decision and present a formal proposal for the terms of cooperation.
- This usually happens within 2 to 7 days after the last stage, although it may take longer depending on discussions with other candidates.
- Negotiations and signing the contract
- At AJ LAW, we value comfort in decision-making. We strive to formulate our offers with the utmost respect and transparency. However, we understand that an offer may not be accepted immediately, which is why, at the final stage, we discuss it together and invite you to share your expectations in response to the offer.
- Next, we finalize the agreed terms (salary, benefits, start date).
- Once accepted, the contract is signed, and you are welcomed to the team.
- We do not set rigid timeframes for negotiations. We act quickly but understand that sometimes discussions need more time, and that’s perfectly fine.
